Get The ‘Android Oreo Launcher’ On Your Phone Even If It’s Not Pixel Or Nexus

Google Android 8.0, now moved to AOSP, is around the corner for Nexus and Pixel devices. While some users are yet to receive the official OTA, they can manually flash the final Android O image on their Pixel and Nexus devices.
For Android smartphones and tablets from other manufacturers, the road to Oreo update is slightly long. However, some enthusiastic developers have always wanted to bring Pixel features to regular Android devices.
A developer known by the name Deletescape, along with another dev Amir Z, ported the Pixel launcher for other devices in the past. And their APK doesn’t require to be rooted.

Moving along similar lines, they have released their the next version called Rootless Pixel Launcher 2.1 which is based on the newest Oreo or Pixel launcher. In terms of look and feel, it isn’t much different from the Nougat Launcher.

You can head over to this GitHub page and download the APK “Launcher3-aosp-debug.apk”. To install the launcher, you need to go to Settings > Security and enable the “Unkown sources” option on your phone.

You can set Launcher3 as default and use it as the regular Launcher on your phone. Also, the prompt to enable Notification access will show up after you finish the installation.
To remove the ported Oreo launcher from your phone, you can simply head over to Apps section in Android Settings and uninstall launcher3.
